Absolute Barbecues India opens up at Avani riverside mall
With their huge success in other parts of the city of joy AB’s has just arrived to Avani Mall Howrah. Many of us just love eating and when food is unlimited the enjoyment just exponentially increases. The most interesting part about absolute barbecue is their wish grill which allows you to taste some of the most exotic and rare meats like the meat of rabbit, emu , shark etc.
Besides it also gives you the chance to have unlimited kebabs on the grill served hot in front of you. Even if you want to have something out of the box, you can go for octopus , squid or even have a bite on a shark steak. On the grill you get chicken , fish ,prawn , mushroom , paneer , watermelon, pineapple and corn kebabs.
They will also serve you mutton seekh kebabs on the table , chicken tengri kebab , grilled pineapple ,creamy potato ,crispy corn. Service is undoubtedly one of the best as you get to customise your level of spiciness for your kebabs, if you have any problem with any dish they are always ready to replace it for you and re prepare the dish according to your wish.
My personal favourites from the starters would include the chicken tengri kebab kebab, American corn , pineapple and chicken kebabs.
Moving to the mains, you can make you own pizza with choice of your own toppings , presently they are serving veg pizzas only. They are also serving bengali style polao ( yellowish in colour ) with mutton curry , a light less spicy mutton preparation with well cooked small poeces of mutton but you can have unlimited servings of the same.
From the buffet section you can jump onto butter chicken with your choice of Indian bread like naan or rooti which they will serce on the table. I opted for a garlic naan. There is biryani , chilly chicken ( with bone ) fried rice , noodles , fish curry prawns and what not . From the veg section I had the malai kofta , the veg manchurian and you also have your comfort food like simple plain rice.
I was too full after my starters so moved on to the desserts section.
The dessert counter is two times better than any buffet restaurant I have come across. You can have crushed ice creams or even ice cream rolls with all possible choices of toppings. I had one ice cream roll with chocolate and vanilla ice cream scoops and added a brownie to it. Other desserts include hot gulab jamun, rasgullas, pastries , jalebies , custard , fresh fruit brownies and the list goes on.
So while comparing this with other popular brands serving buffet the positives which come out are the hospitality , wish grill concept where you not only get exotic meat but you can also cook for yourself taking permission from the person concerned and lastly the dessert section is incredibly good.

Read moreI recently visited Absolute Barbecue at Avani Mall, and I must say, the experience left much to be desired. The starters, particularly the chicken on the grill, were disappointingly cold and lacked flavor. The fish also failed to impress, and the tardy service only added to our frustration, leaving us both hungry and in a sour mood.
Even the tandoori chicken failed to hit the mark, prompting the staff to inquire about our satisfaction. They took the feedback and attempted to rectify the situation, resulting in a somewhat improved taste later on. However, the main course continued the trend of disappointment. The egg fried rice was subpar, and the chilly chicken tasted overwhelmingly of ketchup.
Our order of tandoori roti and garlic naan was equally unsatisfactory, resembling more of a papad than proper bread. When the roti started falling apart, we had to request a replacement, which, thankfully, came out soft. The chicken and handi mutton further added to our woes; the latter felt as though we were chewing on undercooked meat, resembling more of chewing gum than a dish.
Despite expressing our concerns multiple times, the issues persisted. The chicken biryani had an overpowering smell of cloves, and the excessive use of spices left the dish lacking. It seemed like our feedback fell on deaf ears, and our dissatisfaction grew with each course.
The dessert section offered some relief with decent pastries, jalebi, kesar phirni, and gajar ka halwa. However, even the gajar ka halwa was marred by an excessive amount of cardamom, making it difficult to enjoy. The slow service, coupled with what felt like neglect towards our table, left us thoroughly disappointed.
As students, we felt perhaps we were not given the same attention as couples or families, adding to our dissatisfaction. All in all, the experience was disheartening, and we have no plans to return. We hope this feedback helps improve the overall dining experience at Absolute...
Read moreA memorable experience, I must say it could not have been any better than this. I went for a Wednesday dinner and it was fantastic. They allow you to vlog and take pictures; the atmosphere or vibe is nice, music is there and a calm place it is. You will definitely like it. Let's talk about food. It starts with Golgappe which I admit is not so good, then comes Cheesy potato, AB's signature Crispy Corn (This tastes fabulous; although heads up, don't eat too much of it or you will miss out on other things in the buffet), Kima Pao. Then the starters - Watermelon, Mushrooms, Paneer, various Chicken kebabs, Mutton Sheekh Kabab, Tandoori Chicken etc., all unlimited. And now you are on your own. Go to the 'Wish-grill' section and there you have options to eat Duck, Quail, Shark, Wild Rabbit etc. exotic meats. Veg and non-veg main courses are also there. Like Chicken Biryani, Veg Biryani, Plain Rice, Fried-rice, Basanti Pulao, Butter-Garlic Noodles, AB's special Dal, Malai Kofta, Alu-posto, Paneer Butter Masala, Chilli-Chicken, Butter Chicken, Handi Mutton, Egg curry, Katla Kalia....I think I mentioned it all. Apart from these you can have White-sauce Pasta, Red-sauce Pasta, Bhel Puri, Doi Bora, Masala Papad etc. Salad was also available. At last you can have awesome desserts. There are so many, I don't even know all their names. Many pastries were there, jalebi, small Gulab Jamun, Rosomalai, Kheer, Firni etc. You can customise ice-creams also. Assorted fruits were available too. Literally man, the dessert section was mind blowing. The food quality is quite good. I would say it's quite right for Rs. 818. I will leave you with...
